PLANNED GIVING: SUSTAINING THE FUTURE, PRESERVING THE PAST

NOEL GILBERT LEGACY SOCIETY

Named after the legendary Memphis conductor, Noel Gilbert conducted shows at the Overton Park Shell for years in the 1940s through the 1980s. He led a petition in the 1960s to save the Shell from being razed and successfully collected over 6,000 signatures to ensure the Overton Park Shell would be protected.

Supporting the Shell can be a meaningful part of your legacy, too. Individuals who have included the Overton Park Shell in their estate plans become members of The Noel Gilbert Legacy Society. By joining the Noel Gilbert Legacy Society, you join a long history of community members who have worked to ensure that the Shell remains a vibrant and vital part of our community for years to come.

“Since my first time at the Shell for the Seals and Crofts concert in 1975, I have been to hundreds of shows there. Every time I’m on the lawn, I get goosebumps knowing the impact the Shell has had on so many people’s lives, and its place in Memphis music history.

Financial planning is important for us all and to be fortunate enough to leave a legacy to our favorite music venue and Memphis’ greatest asset is an honor for us. We know our gift will help maintain the Shell for our grandchildren and all Memphis families in the future.”

Ken Steinberg, Former Board President and Noel Gilbert Legacy Society Member

Noel Gilbert Legacy Society members will be recognized on the Preservation Wall at the Shell as well as be invited to special events and included in further collaboration with the Overton Park Shell.

When you establish a planned gift, your generosity and vision will sustain the Overton Park Shell for generations of music lovers. Leave a legacy of love through a gift of stock, retirement assets, insurance, or by making a gift in your will.

If you are considering a planned gift, be sure to consult your financial or legal advisor. If you have already included us in your estate plans, please let us know.
